James Blake is gearing up to release new music! The singer told Billboard this past weekend at Austin City Limits Music Festival that he’s already working on a new album which will follow the release of his fourth studio album Assume Form earlier this year.
He is “working on some new material” and stated that he is “excited” to release the brand-new song “You’re Too Precious” soon, but “I don’t know the [release] date yet,” Blake added, “But I just wanna release it soon. It’s just, you know, it’s a matter of how it’s released. I just gotta figure that out first.”
According to him, the upcoming single is a love song all about “wanting to take a little bit of someone’s load and just loving that person”.
This will be his first release since April, where he dropped “Mulholland,” a bonus track which appeared on the vinyl release of “Assume Form”. Speaking on the track, Tom Connick wrote in a five-star review of the LP:
“Proof that James Blake is one of the world’s greatest producers, this loved-up fourth record, featuring Andre 3000 and Travis Scott, sees him finally in control as a brilliant songwriter and emotive lyricist.”
