Yolanda Brown: Live at the IndigO2 & Interview

Two time MOBO ‘Best Jazz’ award winner Yolanda Brown brought her unique brand of Jazz to the IndigoO2 last week to a sold out audience. The saxophonist (who is also a double Masters holder) combined elements of Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul, Gospel and Reggae into an awe inspiring set list which included a beautiful selection of Jazz standards as well as two Soul infused Alicia Keys covers.

Yolanda also gave the opportunity for some aspiring artists to open for her via an online competition. Winners included spoken word artist Sewuese , Kadija Kamara  and Grace Obika  who all performed a selection of tracks from their upcoming projects. Orin Lewis from ACLTA also took to the stage a few minutes before Yolanda came onstage to shine a light on the important work of the charity in raising awareness of bone marrow and blood donation.
