Whitney Houston on X-Factor!
Last night the legend that is Whitney Houston made her first UK TV appearance in 12 years. Arguably one of the best female singers of all time and the voice behind hits such as “Saving All My Love for You”, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”, “Greatest Love of All”, “It's Not Right But It's Okay” and “I Will Always Love You”, the last several years have presented a host of struggles for Whitney. A turbulent marriage to Bobby Brown, a well publicized drug problem and a slump in record sales have all taken their toll on the star. However Whitney has worked hard to battle the problems that have plagued the last few years of her career and seems to be on the up once again. Last month her new album “I Look To You” went straight to the top of the U.S Billboard Chart and the album seems to be fairing just as well this side of the pond outselling our own Alexandra Burke according to early sales statistics.
It was only fitting that X-Factor should be the stage for Whitney’s UK comeback and her first UK appearance in 12 years. Singing her new single “Million Dollar Bill” Whitney took to the stage with confidence and vocally sounded better than she has in a long time. Off course Whitney’s comeback would not bee without some drama due to an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction. This however did nothing to phase Whitney who is a truly a seasoned pro. Let’s hope this year’s X-Factor contestants were paying attention.
