It has emerged that Sugababe Amelle Berrabah has been admitted to a recovery clinic in Europe following a severe bout of nervous exhaustion. The 25 year old has reportedly been experiencing extreme stress over the last few months which has only been exacerbated by the recent line up change and departure of Keisha Buchannan last month. The speculation surrounding the controversy of Keisha’s departure has had a massive impact on remaining members Amelle and Heidi Range who has since said: "Both Amelle and I have been through a very traumatic time together in recent months and particularly over the past few weeks." The star has been admitted to a private clinic under medical advice and will spend the next few weeks recovering under expert care.
The new line up which includes Keisha’s replacement and MOBO nominee Jade Ewen has yet to make their live debut, having to pull out of a scheduled performance in Leeds and an appearance on a German TV show due to Amelle’s recent health troubles. The news will come as a disappointment to Sugagabes fans that are desperate to see the girls in their new line up. However label representatives have stated that Amelle should be back to full health in the next three weeks and will return to promoting the upcoming Sugababes single “About a Girl” alongside Heidi and Jade.
