Spring Into The Trends

Spring Into The Trends

By the time it gets to April we are fed up of the winter weather and our winter wardrobes. We want the sun shining, upbeat music playing and our summer clothes on. Finally, it is officially Spring and although the sun can’t be promised, we can begin to update our look with the Spring/Summer 2012 trends.

A brand that has caught everyone’s attention recently is ‘BOY London.’ The clothing with an attitude has been worn by singers Jessie J, Keri Hilson and a number of times by Rihanna. Rihanna appeared on the “Jonathon Ross Show” at the beginning of March wearing ‘BOY London.’ Dressed head-to-toe in the brand (something no one should also do) was her intention as she wanted to re-create exactly the same outfit from a 1980’s Italian magazine.

Being the style icon she is, the brand’s sales increased by 45% after her appearance! It is no surprise as the clothing is unisex and affordable which means we can now all steal a piece of Rihanna’s wardrobe!

‘BOY London’ clothing has a dark colour pallet and if you are looking to brighten up your wardrobe, you will be happier wearing one of the boldest trends this season- the colour yellow. This trend will show that you are fearless of fashion! Inspired by warm sunny days, all different shades of yellow have brightened up the catwalk in collections by designers such as Julien McDonald, Vera Wang, Moschino and Burberry Prorsum Mens.

Those who have a darker complexion should take advantage of this trend as this colour really compliments this type of skin tone. Celebrities such as Nicole Richie, Nicole Scherzinger, Willow Smith and Alesha Dixon have already been pictured showing us their love for this statement colour. A celebrity who I love in this colour is Nicole Scherzinger. She wore yellow at the Brits and what better way to go about this trend than to wear a stunning strapless embellished, floor length gown by Versace!

What’s not to love about this season? Whether you chose to rock the sporty look with a BOY London baseball cap, mix prints, show off your figure in a crop top, or be brave and bright in yellow, be sure to update your Spring/Summer wardrobe in a trend that suits you. Now all we need to do is hope that the sun stays out!
