Single of the week: Janelle Monae 'Cold War'
Janelle Monae has been garnering much in the way of acclaim (both critically and commercially) as of late. We had the opportunity to see her perform live recently at The Hoxton Bar and Grill and we were definitely not disappointed!
The quirky singer looks set to continue the trend, following the debut of the video for ‘Cold War’ – the latest single to be lifted from her ‘‘The ArchAndroid (Suites II and III of IV)’ LP
The video is very Sinead O Connor esque, with stripped down visuals that allow for the lyrical depth of the track to shine through. It’s an absolutely stunning video, shot in one take and potentially pure genius, but hay, check it out for yourselves below and let us know what you think!...Were you as moved as we were?!
The single is due for release on August 24th.
