The troubled singer and actress Whitney Houston was found dead last night in her hotel room on the eve of the Grammy Awards.
Famous for such powerful numbers such as 'I Will Always Love You' and 'Saving All My Love For You', Whitney passed away alone in her hotel room at the slender age of 48.
Though the last few years have been overshadowed by her long cocaine addiction and her difficult marriage with fellow singer Bobby Brown, it was said Whitney had come out strong where she proved this with a host of tour dates in 2010.
It came as a shock to discover Whitney Houston’s death last night as she was due to attend a pre-awards party in the very hotel she was staying at which was organised by a close colleague of hers, Clive Davies.
Stars attending the party took a moment of silence to honour this great talent.
The cause of death is still unclear but as we all mourn the soul queen's sudden departure from us, her memory will live on in her many truly classic albums.
Kanya King, MOBO founder said this morning on Sky News 'Whitney, so often imitated, never surpassed. The world has lost a true legend. R.I.P. Whitney.'
