1. Prince to release new album for free!

This year is panning out to be a great year for new music! The following months are no exception as the purple pop star Prince has announced he will be releasing an album entitled 20Ten in July for free! Yes that’s right, completely free! The new record will be distributed via The Daily Mirror on July 10th. The deal is part of a ‘multi media collaboration’ with The Mirror and will see them run a series of Prince themed issues including interviews and free ticket giveaways. The newspaper interview will be his first for more than 10 years but this years release follows the success of his previously free record back in July 2007. We can’t wait and we hope this means he will be making a visit to the UK very soon!

2. New official music video from Donaeo: ‘Im Fly’!

The King of the clubs is back with a new music video for ‘Im Fly’! The track, taken from his forthcoming self titled album, has been circulating on the radio for a few months now and finally we have peeped the official music video! Donaoe never fails with his club hits and this one has come just in time for the summer season! Peep the video below!

3. Beyonce and Lady Gaga top Forbes 100 most powerful celebrity list!

Beyonce was named the second most powerful celebrity in the world by Forbes Magazine in their annual ‘100 Celebrity Power List’. The list is based on earnings and media exposure. Bey’s earnings and profile were ‘boosted’ in the past 12 months by her global tour and endorsement deals. Lady Gaga took the number 4 position, just after ‘Avatar’ director James Cameron, which considering she’s only released one album is pretty darn exceptional! However, none of these could top the uber powerful Oprah Winfrey, who once again landed herself on the number 1 spot and named the most powerful celebrity in the world! Check out the top 10 below! 4. Kanye West announces release date for next album!

According to recent reports, Mr West’s fifth studio album ‘Good Ass Job’ is set for release on September 14th 2010! The album was originally due to be release later on this year but has now been pushed forward and will mark his first album release since ‘808s & Heartbreak’ in late 2008. The first single from the album ‘Power’ leaked last month and if that is anything to go by this album will see him return to his rapping roots unlike the auto tuned singing on the last LP. We can’t wait!

5. MOBO twitter followers recommend nominees for ‘best newcomer’ award 2010!

A few days ago we put out a tweet asking our followers to tell us who they wanted nominated for the MOBO ‘best newcomer’ award. The response was phenomenal with hundreds of you donating suggestions. Amongst those that were most tweeted for were Mz Bratt, Marvell, Fugative, Princess Nyah, Tine Tempah and Professor Green! Keep it up guys, we truly value your opinion and if you campaign hard enough you may see your favourite artists being nominated for an award at this years' MOBO’s!!
