MOBO Interviews Luke Bingham
How did you come to feature on Matrix and Futurebound single All I Know?
Well I actually wrote the track. It was never initially meant for another beat but we asked Matrix and Futurebound and they wanted to produce it.
How did you feel when it climbed in the top 40 chart?
I was happy with the success of the track and surprised that it charted so high as it was put aside and never had intentions of it being one of the first tracks out.
When you last talked to MOBO TV last year, you said you’ve done so much in your career without even releasing a single. How would you describe your career now?
I still feel like I am at the start of my career and have so much more to achieve.
What can you tell us about your new track ‘Shut It Down’?
Again, I wrote this track. It’s about being young and having a good time, going to clubs, women and basically just ‘Shutting It Down’
You also have another track called ‘Gemini’ featuring Sway. When will you be releasing ‘Gemini’?
It’ll be released towards the end of summer and I’m really looking forward to people hearing it.
How did you get Sway to collaborate with you?
We are label buddies so have been speaking about doing something together for a while and this seemed like the right track.
You will also be adding Cover Drive on the list of acts whom you’ve supported at your home town on the 23rd of June. What will fans expect here?
I’m excited as I always am when I perform in my home town. I will be performing all my new tracks which a lot of fans may not have heard.
When can we expect you on your own tour?
Hopefully that will happen at the end of this year/beginning of next.
What are your plans on a debut album?
My album is pretty much finished but there will be a few late additions, also at this moment it will probably not be released for about a year.
Who are your tips at this year’s MOBO Awards?
I would like Sway to win something or maybe even Rita Ora for what she’s done this year and I think she’s the perfect popstar.
