




1.Michelle Williams to star in Strictly Come Dancing!
Michelle Williams looks set to follow up her successful stint on ‘Chicago’ by taking part in one of the UK’s biggest TV shows – ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. According to Digital Spy, the Destiny’s Child star, 30, is believed to have been paid up to £100,000 to star in the ballroom dancing show. A fee producers were willing to pay as a means of attracting higher caliber stars to this season of the hit series. Michelle Williams is an interesting choice, she never was the best dancer in Destiny’s Child, but lets hope this gives her the chance to brush up on her skills! The 11th season of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ kicks off September 11th on BBC 1!
2. Jay Z to tour with U2 in Australia and New Zealand!
Jay-Z and U2 are ready to head down under. Promoting giant Live Nation is celebrating the launch of its newest Australian branch with a five-date U2 360 tour of Australia featuring special guest Jay-Z. The Australia leg, which kicks off on November 25 at Auckland’s Mt. Smart Stadium, is a side venture from the rock band’s international tour, which currently sees them gigging their way through Europe. The Australian dates, which will feature Hov as the opening act, will hit Melbourne (12/1), Brisbane (12/8), Sydney (12/13) and Perth (12/18). Tickets will go on sale on September 3!
3. Miss Universe 2010 crowned in Las Vegas!
Jimena Navarrete of Mexico has been crowned Miss Universe 2010! The 22-year-old from Guadalajara scooped the title over 82 other contestants at the ceremony in Las Vegas last night, reports The AP. "I imagine that they're all going crazy in Mexico right now. I'm extremely proud and I'm sure they're very proud, too," she said. Navarrete was crowned by last year's winner Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela. Yendi Phillipps of Jamaica was named first runner-up and Miss Australia's Jesinta Campbell nabbed second runner-up. Congratulations ladies!
4. Alexandra Burke to announce tour dates!
Alexandra Burke has revealed that she is planning a UK-wide tour. The singer, whose latest single is called 'Start Without You', said that a tour is in the works and dates are due to be announced soon. She told Irish channel After Dark: "I'm coming back [to Ireland] for my tour next year - dates to be released in September, and venues to be released in September. "It's going to be February more than January that I perform in Ireland so I'm really looking forward to it." On her plans for the dates, Burke previously told Digital Spy: "I have major ideas for it and I want it to be the most incredible thing known to man, but it's going to take a lot of work." You go girl!
5. New Music: Lupe Fiasco – ‘Go to Sleep’
Chi-town native Lupe Fiasco has released the first track off his oft-delayed third studio album ‘Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album’. Produced by 1500 or Nothin’ (Nipsey Hussle, Asher Roth), “Go to Sleep” rolls slowly with haunting piano melody complemented by chugging percussion and a mournful vocal line.
