British genre-bending producer Mark Ronson has returned with a new name and sound to take on the music charts once again. This time going under the guise of ‘Mark Ronson and the Business INTL’, and accompanied by a whole entourage of veritable music heavy weights (D'Angelo, Ghostface, MNDR, Dap Kings, Wiley and MC Pill to name but a few), Ronson is set to release new album ‘Record Collection’ this September.
Summer is finally here and with it comes an onslaught of bouncy, feel-good anthems aimed at pleasing our defrosted holiday ears. First release from the album, ‘Bang Bang Bang’, does just that by combining the right amount of 80s synth-pop with a big dollop of hip hop for good measure. American artist and producer extraordinaire Q Tip features on the track, alongside big lunged newcomer MNDR who peppers the release with an electronic edge and a smattering of lyrics sung in French.
Mixing up old sounds with new this is a transatlantic and perfectly poppy offering that is already receiving a multitude of attention across the airwaves and blogosphere. The track is brilliantly matched by a disco-chic video and reveals the first sounds of what is sure to be, if anything, an interesting mash-up of an album. For your chance to hear Mark Ronson and the Business INTL head to Lovebox at Victoria Park on Saturday 16th July, where Ronson and Co will be supporting Roxy Music on the main stage.
‘Bang Bang Bang’ is released on 12th July 2010.
