Former Sugababes member Keisha Buchanan is rumoured to be suing the current lineup of the girl group over the use of the name “Sugababes”. As a founding member of the group, Keisha is also credited with choosing the name along with fellow original member Mutya Buena. Keisha was kicked out of the group in September 2009 and replaced with upcoming solo artist and MOBO nominated best newcomer Jade Ewen. If the lawsuit is successful it will mean that the current embodiment of the group - with no original members – will no longer be able to perform or record under the name “Sugababes”. The news comes the day that “Wear My Kiss” the latest track from the Sugababes débuted at No.7 on the UK singles chart.
