Another busy week at MOBO HQ – had some very exciting meetings in the last few days that mean 2010 is shaping up to be a very positive one! Very proud and privilege to be working closely with a formidable business woman called Ruby McGregor who you will be hearing a lot more about in the future. Remember where you heard about her first.

I rarely get ill, but this week, I haven’t been on top form – got a flu bug. With my streaming eyes and runny nose everyone is staying away from me. Have topped up on the vitamins so hopefully will be back to tip top health in no time! Don’t have the time to stay at home ….

Besides, I need to be feeling better soon because this Friday I’m jetting off to LA to warm up a little (when will this cold snap end?!) and to catch a show you may have heard of… “The Grammy Awards” and attend a few meetings. The Grammys are now in their 52nd year and I thought our 15th year was big – we still have a long way to go.

While people may have expected America’s sweetheart Taylor Swift to run this year’s show – it’s actually Beyoncé who is taking the lead with 10 nominations, however, Taylor isn’t far behind with 8. Notorious stage diver, Kanye West has 6 nominations. Let’s hope he stays in his seat this time, no matter what the outcome! The coverted Record of the Year Award has some stiff competition this year with multiple MOBO winner Beyoncé’s “Halo”, MOBO winners Black-Eyed Peas "I Got a Feeling", Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" thrown into the mix with Taylor Swift’s “You Belong with Me” and the Kings of Leon “Use Somebody”. Who do you reckon will take it? It’s anyone’s game at this point.

As to Beyoncé, I saw her at the O2 back in November when I was hosting a box for Women in Business, and she was mesmerizing. Did you catch her performance of “Halo” at the MTV Hope for Haiti telethon?

Looking forward to sharing all the Grammy news with you when I get back!

Best,

KK
