This week has been so busy! It’s all really hectic but exciting as everything’s coming nicely together! Wednesday saw our MOBO Nominations party being held at the glamorous May Fair Hotel in London. We were in the Crystal suite with a chandelier above us worth over £1.2 million. Very fitting for the occasion and far too big to take home. It was a great night which was attended by the brightest and best talent working in music today – with the likes of JLS, Beverley Knight, Ndubz, Chipmunk and some good looking sports stars such as the boxing champ David Hay and the rugby stars Ugo and Danny making an appearance. The glitterati were out in force with the doll Kimberley Wyatt walking the red carpet. Bashy and Estelle’s sister H Boogie got the crowd going and Jade Ewen rocked the place with her sassy performance. Our gracious MOBO host, Reggie Yates, compared the evening with his usual style and flair! The event was buzzing and I was extremely happy to hear that everyone who came down got to sample some tasty Carribean food from Cottons, except MOI!

2009 has been a phenomenal year for UK music, and it’s so good to see UK talent being recognized in the charts. We’ve worked long and hard to get to this point where all these talented UK Artists are finally getting the mainstream success they so deserve. We only have to take a look at the chart positions of Tinchy, Chipmunk, Alexandra Burke, N Dubz this year to see how far MOBO music has come. This is what we’ve been striving for and I’m really happy that UK music is being so widely acknowledged and indeed, celebrated. You just have to look at the calibre of the Best UK Act category to see how strong the UK scene is at the moment! And check out Beverley’s reaction on our video clip when she hears that she’s been nominated - what a beautiful moment. And I’ve just been told it’s her 10th MOBO Nomination! Wow.

So, now this year’s nominations have been announced, make sure you get your vote in and contribute to what’s going to be a fabulous show in Glasgow on September 30th!
