Judge Grants Karrueche Tran 5-Year Restraining Order Against Chris Brown

A judge on Thursday (June 16) granted Karrueche Tran a restraining order against singer and ex-boyfriend Chris Brown for the next five years, PEOPLE confirms.

Karrueche, who currently stars in the TNT series Claws, took the stand Thursday in her restraining order case against Brown, telling a judge that after she broke up with the singer he demanded diamond rings he bought for her to be returned, to which she refused, TMZ reports. Chris, who didn’t appear in court but was represented by his attorney, David Gammill, became aggressive after that, she claimed.

The 29-year-old also alleged in court that Brown texted her violent threats, such as, “I can get my money back and I’m tired of playing games,” along with, “Bitch I will beat the s— out of you” and “I promise you I will make your life hell.”

Following a cross-examination from Brown’s attorney, in which he pressed Karrueche on allegedly taunting Chris about the rings by saying she had sold them and brought up the point of her never reporting any of the alleged behaviour to authorities, the judge sided with Tran and granted her a restraining order against Chris Brown for the next five years.
