Lola Rae

Introducing Afrobeat superstar Lola Rae

They are calling her the African Beyoncé!  She has the voice, the moves and the looks to take the world by storm.

The 22 year old British, Nigerian, Ghanaian hasn’t been on our screens long but in that short time has been a trending topic on twitter, received over 400,000 views for her debut single, caught the attention of Simon Cowell, broke records for having the highest hits on BBC African website for a non –political story and is booked for the same show as established artist such as Angel, Cashtastic and G-fresh all without being signed, this girl has no limits.

Lola Rae started performing professionally on the hit TV show Britain got talent with her music group Myztikal. The group sailed through with Simon Cowell even commenting on Lola Rae impressive vocals. The singer was later invited to audition for UK Factor but turned it down in order to become an artist the way she wanted.

‘Watch my ting go’ was Lola Rae debut single and became an instant club banger being played in the U.K, US and in Africa. The song is currently on rotation on DJ Abrantee’s Choice FM Afrobeats show.

Her follow up single ‘High’ (Wanting more) shows of Lola Rae impressive vocals reminiscent of her jazz background, a strength that sets her apart from the average Afro beat star.

Lola has since go on to perform at the star studded ‘Destination Africa’ alongside acts such as Wande coal, and D’prince as well as starring in Ice prince ‘More’ video.

Lola Rae's publicity has soared so much that just five months after debuting MTV UK has tipped Lola Rae as one of 2013's hottest African acts to watch out for.

This girl knows no boundaries and I know 2013 will be her year.

Keep an eye out for the star’s new single “I’m a boss” out next month.

In the meantime check out ‘Watch my Ting go’.
