Groundbreakers: 2Xclusive Crew

We all hope that 2010 is going to be a breakthrough year for a lot of UK Based Artists. With the likes of Tinie Tempah, Wiley and Chipmunk all going strong and representing UK Music it has only added to the belief of the up and comers showing that there is space for us all at the top.

This year I’m hoping to open everyone’s eyes to those Singers, DJ’s, Artists and basically any up and comer that is trying to break from the Underground. This week I’ve decided to pick on some of my own people who have been working hard day by day to put themselves firmly on the map….

Introducing 2Xclusive Ent!

How did 2Xclusive Ent begin?

We were three musically motivated guys from Oxford. We all grew up together but we were all doing our own individual projects throughout our teenage years. We were brought together last year when one of our close friends pointed out that together we could go a lot further than we were going as individuals.

What is 2Xclusive Ent?

2Xclusive Ent is currently a group of 2 DJ’s (DJ Spex and Ritchie Paul) and a Host (MC $toney) who play the best in Urban Music. We have played at venue’s across the UK and hopefully we can take this further afield over time. We are currently being booked alongside some of the biggest Artists in the UK and have our own radio slot every Saturday bringing you the best in Urban Music.

What’s the dream?

The dream is to expand and bring more and more people under the 2Xclusive Ent umbrella. We understand that everyone wants to reach the top; so why travel alone when there’s soo many talented individuals around us. Hopefully we’ll be able to bring Producers, Artists, DJ’s and Musicians together and we can all work our way up the ladder as one: 2Xclusive Ent.

What makes you different from every other Dj’s/Mc?

The fact that we like to be too exclusive. That’s what brought the name on; simply the fact that we like to be totally fresh and exclusive. We play stuff that you haven’t heard before, wear stuff you’ve never seen before and mix tunes that have never been mixed before. We like to keep everyone entertained and happy. We hate negativity when we’re out so we work hard to keep everything bubbly and to keep you on your feet. It’s all about good vibes when you’re out partying!!

Favourite Artists worked with?

Having worked with so many artists it’s hard to pick out individuals. However people like Lemar, Kano, Giggs and Bashy definitely stand out. It’s good to work around positive people who take the time out to spend 5 minutes with you and give you advice. We have Dj Wise and Dj Stylus from Manchester who always keep us up to date musically with the latest bangers from up north and also MJ Sly and Ricky Undisputed RSI have played a major part in our plans down here.

Future plans?

We’re just trying to take 2Xclusive Ent as far as we can and have as much fun as possible on the way. We just want to play our music and have people leaving our nights dying to tell their friends about how good it was and all about 2Xclusive Ent. We hope to be able to influence musicians just as we ourselves have been influenced. How great a feeling it would be to know we have helped new Djs and Artists with their dreams?- To give something back to the industry we love. We want to be a name that’s on everyone’s lips and who everyone wants to see.
