Last night saw music’s biggest stars converging on the LA Staples Centre for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. Opening the show was the phenomenon of 2009 Lady Gaga. Joined on the piano by Sir Elton John, Gaga performed a medley of hits including Poker Face, Speechless and the Elton John classic Your Song. Next came a show stopping performance from Beyonce who performed “If I Were a Boy”. Beyonce was nominated for an outstanding 10 Awards of which she won six, breaking the record amount of Awards won by a solo female artist in one year, the record previously held by Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys and Amy Winehouse.

More performances came from Pink, Black Eyed Peas, Jamie Foxx, T-Pain & Slash, Mary J. Blige & Andrea Bocelli, Maxwell & Roberta Flack, Drake, Lil’ Wayne & Eminem as well as a moving tribute to Micheal Jackson performed by Celine Dion, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson & Smokey Robinson.

Best Female R&B Vocal Performance: Beyonce – “Single Ladies”
Best Male R&B Vocal Performance: Maxwell – “Pretty Wings”
Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance: Beyonce – “At Last”
Best R&B Album: Maxwell – “BLACKSummers’night”
Contemporary R&B Album: Beyonce – “I Am…Sasha Fierce”
Song of the Year: Beyonce – “Single Ladies”
Record of the Year: Kings of Leon – “Use Somebody”
Best Rap Song Collaboration: Jay-Z, Kanye West & Rihanna – “Run This Town”
Best Female Vocal Performance: Beyonce – “Halo”
Album of the Year: Taylor Shift
