If you haven’t heard of Jaguar Skills yet, then get ready to because he is about to get very, very big! With celebrity endorsers including Mark Ronson, Lupe Fiasco and Trevor Nelson, the mysterious DJ Jaguar Skills has played every major festival this year and is on the line up for Bestival as well as a host of live dates in Ibiza and the U.K.
Yesterday afternoon the elusive DJ played a surprise take over street party gig in the middle of London’s busy Oxford Circus! Arriving in an A-Team van and armed with a Funktion 1 sound system, a fully Ninja clad Jaguar Skills blasted out a mash up of the best Hip-Hop tunes from the last 30 years. Within minutes a huge crowed had formed in the Fitzrovia's Market Place, with everyone wanting to catch a glimpse of the energetic and intriguing DJ. Jaguar Skills doesn’t just DJ though, he creates a whole experience with his Hip-Hop / Ninja mash up theme.

Camped outside Yo Sushi’s, Jaguar brought with him his very own group of Harajuku girls who entertained the gathering crowed, posing for photos while he blasted out his unique mixes to the streets of London. Even the busy rush hour commuters took a break from their mad scramble to get on the Victoria line and hung back to watch Jaguar's set. Jay Z, Fugees, Tu Pac, Nas, Q-Tip, ODB, Eminem, Wyclef, Jackson 5, Mob Deep and DMX all found their way into his mix which played like an education in the history of Hip-Hop.
His online mixtapes have earned him cult status and have been downloaded millions of times. Most notably is his 2006 mixtape “1979-2006: A Hip-Hop Odyssey - 800 Tracks In 45 Minutes”. This guy knows his stuff! MOBO says be sure to keep your eye on Jaguar Skills, big things are expected from him in 2010!
