The MOBOs held in Glasgow on September 30 was a great success and I was lucky enough to have won tickets to go! The night was fantastic; full of glam and glitz from the outstanding stage to the great celebrities that turned up to the event. There was a glowing red carpet outside the SECC with top celebs going in. JLS made the best impression arriving in their sports cars one by one and the crowd definitely gave them a warm welcome.
My top favourites that arrived were Peter Andre and Tinchy Stryder. Everyone had clearly made an effort for the occasion including myself and friend, Clair. The night was dedicated to Michael Jackson who received a life time achievement award which was taken on his behalf from his brother. Jermaine Jackson sang an the emotional song, “Smile” and this received the most cheers from the crowd.
My favourite act of the night was Mr Hudson who got everyone to their feet with his latest hit. Beyonce did get boos for not turning up to the event but it was later overlooked when she gave a video thanking for the award. JLS went away with two awards and played their number one single “Beat Again”. This summed up how successful their year has been; even Alexander never won at the MOBOs.
Scotland certainly hosted a glamorous award show packed with performances from the urban scene including some of the best: N-Dubz,Keri Hilson & Chipmunk. The performances from every act who took to the stage created an incredible evening for us all. I was sitting near the tables where the A-list celebs where, who looked like they where enjoying themselves with their glasses being filled up all evening.
Overall it was a spectacular award show and showed that Glasgow is in the league to host a show of this status. The finale to the show ended the night on a great note with Young Soul Rebels performing "I Got Soul" and the effect of glittering tinsel falling down covering the stage.
