Adele 'to sign £90 million Sony Music contract'

As if Adele wasn’t killing it enough in her music career already, reports are surfacing that the British singer is poised to sign a whopping £90 million record deal with Sony after her original contract with XL expires. Adele has been signed to XL Recordings since the beginning of her career, with the independent label releasing her albums ‘19’, ‘21’ and ‘25’.

Her existing deal ran out with the release of ’25’ in November 2015, and according to a report in The Sun today (May 23), Sony have secured a deal which could be the most expensive in music history, beating out Robbie Williams’ £80 million deal back in 2002, as well as the most valuable contract to be given to a woman, following Whitney Houston’s £70 million deal with Arista in 2001.

If the report does turn out to be true, this could make her one of the most valuable artists in music history. In other news, Adele recently released the video for ‘Send My Love (To Your New Lover)’, the third single from her chart-topping ‘25’ album.
