Wednesday night was a historic night for UK talent. Hosted by Reggie Yates and Keri Hilson, the 2009 MOBO Awards saw the best of British and international talent coming together in celebration and recognition of the achievements in urban music. Taking place at the SECC in Glasgow, this was the first time in the 14 years since the MOBO Awards first started that the event has been held outside London. Taking the Awards to Glasgow proved to be a huge success with the whole city welcoming MOBO and turning out in force to show their support.
The evening featured performances from Tinchy Stryder, Keri Hilson, JLS, Chipmunk, Ironik, David Guetta & Kelly Rowland, N-Dubz and Young Soul Rebels. The evenings proceedings culminated in a moving tribute to the late great king of pop Michael Jackson, introduced by sister Latoya and featuring Shaheen , Diversity and Jermaine Jackson. Michael was then honored with the MOBO lifetime achievement award, cementing his legacy as an influential and legendary artist. TV personality Peter Andre was backstage to interview all the winners, nominees, performers and guest presenters in attendance at the prestigious awards ceremony.
